BUILDING RESEARCH ESTABLISHMENT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY
BREEAM is the world’s oldest and most widely used building environmental assessment system. Developed in the United Kingdom in 1990, it establishes a rigorous framework for measuring and improving the environmental, social and economic performance of buildings throughout their life cycle. BREEAM is adaptable to all types of assets—residential, commercial, industrial or mixed-use—and places particular emphasis on management, innovation and the overall impact of the project.
